As a pioneer in the construction of new engineering disciplines in the school, since its establishment in 2018, our college has always taken serving the national strategy and the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as its own responsibility, focusing on cutting-edge exploration and talent training in the field of automation and intelligent manufacturing. From the accumulation of the School of System Design and Intelligent Manufacturing to the integration of automation disciplines, we have continuously expanded the connotation of new disciplines, built a characteristic discipline system with control theory and engineering, pattern recognition and intelligent systems, navigation, guidance and control, and intelligent manufacturing as the core, forming an integrated talent training chain of undergraduate, master's and doctoral degrees.

With the mission of "practitioner of new engineering education and definer of future technology", we promote the deep integration of automation and artificial intelligence technology, and cultivate leading talents with innovative thinking, international vision and family and country feelings. Relying on the two major research centers of control science and design intelligent manufacturing, the college has created an interdisciplinary platform to encourage teachers and students to break through boundaries and climb the peak in the direction of advanced control theory and methods, artificial intelligence, autonomous robots, innovative design and intelligent manufacturing.

In the face of the new pattern of global scientific and technological competition, we adhere to the principle of "original exploration, problem-oriented, and application-driven", and concentrate on conquering core key technologies. In recent years, the college has made a series of landmark achievements in the fields of all-wheel drive system theory and application, multi-agent system, embodied intelligence and robots, intelligent sensing and advanced manufacturing, etc., providing core scientific and technological support for national industrial upgrading and high-quality development.
